SUNYANI—Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, the Sunyani Manhene, was sworn in at the Bono Regional House of Chiefs on 24th September 2026, with the ceremony led by the president of the House, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II. Odeefour Ogyeamansan took three oaths, namely one before the House, one before the Court of Law, and the Oath of Secrecy; it was thus officially acknowledged that he had become the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area.
At the meeting, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II acknowledged that Odeefour Ogyeamansan’s nomination faced opposition. He said that after hearing what the people of Sunyani had to say, he had found that a majority preferred the candidacy of the Sunyani Manhene. He told Odeefour Ogyeamansan to concentrate on his duties, pointing out that leadership generally draws criticism and opposition. He urged him to tell the truth and stick to his responsibilities. Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II also asked the Sunyani Manhene to prioritize youth employment, technology, security, and peace.
