For centuries, the Bono people exemplified unity and strength in West Africa, guided by the wisdom of the Bono Hene. However, the border between Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire divided our community, separating our King and many of our people.
Without central leadership, we became fragmented rather than unified. Despite the dedication of our traditional leaders, the absence of a strong institutional framework has limited our progress in infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development.
A New Dawn of Unity
Change is underway. Under the leadership of Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Nana Freduah Agyemang Badu II, the Bono Traditional Leaders are working to restore our unity. Their efforts to present a unified front for equitable national development are commendable. However, progress today requires collective action from all citizens, not just traditional authorities.
We have learned that sustainable progress depends on our own initiative. Successful communities worldwide are built and advanced by their members. This understanding led to the establishment of the Bonoman Institute.
Why the Bonoman Institute Matters
The Bonoman Institute serves as the intellectual and strategic center for the Bono people, connecting our heritage with future prosperity.
- Transnational Collaboration: We are working with traditional leaders in both Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire to overcome the divisions that have separated us.
- Progress Hub: The Institute functions as a think tank, transforming challenges in education and business development into actionable strategies for success.
- Unified Voice: We offer institutional support to our chiefs, ensuring that the concerns of the Bono people are heard by both national and international audiences.

A Call to the Intellectual Community
We call on professors, doctors, engineers, Nurses, Lawyers, entrepreneurs, and technology innovators worldwide to reconnect with their heritage.
The Bonoman Institute seeks your expertise, insights, and strategic input. We invite the intellectual community to contact the Institute’s management (email:bonomaninstitute@gmail.com: Phone:+233203308686) Whether you are in Sunyani, Abidjan, London, or New York, your knowledge is essential to our development.
Institutional Support: Key Areas for Bono Development
The Bonoman Institute is the intellectual and strategic engine room for the Bono people. However, an engine cannot run without fuel. To realize our vision of a modernized, prosperous Bono land, we are calling on all citizens to contribute across these vital pillars:
Intellectual and Advisory Contributions: Professors, researchers, and policy experts are encouraged to participate in the Institute’s advisory group. Their expertise is essential for developing frameworks in education, urban planning, and sustainable agriculture.
Financial Investment: The development of hospitals, schools, and business centers depends on adequate funding. Bono entrepreneurs and members of the diaspora are invited to support these initiatives through financial contributions of any scale.
Media and Advocacy: Journalists, media professionals, and influencers play a critical role in communicating the Institute’s objectives, promoting Bono cultural identity, and ensuring the community remains informed.
Technical Volunteerism: Engineers, healthcare professionals, and technology specialists are needed to provide practical expertise for the implementation of development projects.
How to Get Involved
We invite every Bono citizen, by heritage or by commitment, to join this initiative.
- Participate: Become a member of the Bonoman Institute.
- Contribute: Share your ideas and professional expertise to help shape our development policies.
- Advocate: Encourage other Bono people in the diaspora to participate.
“The strength of the broom lies not in a single straw, but in the bundle.”
While past divisions were imposed on us, our future development is in our hands. Let us work together with the Bonoman Institute to create a new chapter of progress.
For the love of Bono, the pride of our ancestors, and the future of our children, let us build together.
